Guy Matthew and his Roadcompanions

Although Guy Van Ginderen has been travelling for the last 17 years on regular basis to different parts of the world, both for personal as professional reasons, music as always  remained a passion in his life. Before he started his voyages, Guy was a performing artist in Belgium working together as musician  with some well known  Belgium bands . But the “great outdoors” were calling.

“I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I'm gonna put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first, I'm gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down.”
Mitch Hedberg

On his trips, he also encountered several musical adventures, he played together with local musicians and also performed in clubs and festivals in Australia, Portugal, Brazil, Florida and Senegal.

Under his artist name Guy Matthew, he kicks off a new phase in his musical development. Based on the experiences  being “on the road”, Guy created a number of songs that he will perform in a multimedial show.  During this tour, he will visit the recording studio on regular basis. We will keep you updated by releasing the songs in four phases, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

He formed a band with some of his best friends which are also seasoned musicians who Guy likes to call  “ his Roadcompanions”.

They perform the songs in such an engaging  way that it sparks inspiration and motivation.

As the leader of the recently established band Roadcompanion, Guy Matthew writes songs that take you along “on the road”. Mesmerising about the unexpected encounters, the lonely moments, the laughs and the tears, the ones we’ve lost along the way and those that we can call our new found friends.

With songs as “Ticket to a better world” and “Moonlight on the station”, Roadcompanion is kicking of his show in Belgium. Plans are being made to also visit other countries.
